Odds & Sods

We have been so busy on the acreage the last few weeks that I have barely even picked up my camera, let alone sat down to blog or facebook.
We have cleaned out the raspberry canes (with the gracious help of our neighbor), the periennal beds - one of which is larger than the entire garden I had at the old house, removed about 15 wheel barrows of leaves, dead plants etc out to the far corner of the property, plowed snow, cleaned, painted the kids bedrooms, and entertained. We have also has cut down 2 trees needing attention, mowed the lawn (well part of it at least), rototilled the raspberry beds and potato plot, burned the trees and raspberry canes, built shelves (for other people), set up the pond out front and fixed the bunny condo.
Through all of this the kids have been sick - vomitting (Katie - for a whole week), diarreah, bronchitis, croup, coughs and colds and an urgent ultrasound on Liam's swollen bruised testicle, which we do not yet have the results for but know it is not life threatening (will know more on Tuesday's Dr. appointment).
The weather certainly slowed the start of our spring maintenance but now that it actually feels and looks like spring we are getting on top of things, all the the TO-DO List is still longer than Bryan is tall.
The kids and dogs are loving all the space and time out doors. The sandbox is set up, the pool is out and with a new patio set I envision that one day we will enjoy watching them play with a refreshing drink in hand.....one day! Here are a few photos from the end of April and start of May.

The weather has slowed seeding for the farmers, so that are at it after sun set - this is the field across the "street" from us.
