Early July we spent 5 days at William Switzer Provincial Park, NW of Hinton, about 1 hr NE of Jasper. We wanted to head back to the Jasper area as we hadn't been since before Katie was born, but decided to try a different park. It was worth it! We stayed on Jarvis Lake in Switzer Park - just 24 sites with a private beach and boat launch. It was busy on the weekend with locals in the day use area but we missed most of that as we spent Sat in Jasper. I think we will go back again - the kids were making us promise already on the way home!
Over looking the lake from the playground, which was right behind our campsite. It was a breath taking view to wake up to with the mist on the lake.

The info centre had "Adventure Packs" that the kids could sign out. Liam took a bug kit - the back pack was as big as him. Katie took a bird kit and loved the binoculars even though we didn't find any birds - 5 yr olds do not have the patience for bird watching. They also really enjoyed doing the scavenger hunt along the trail. Watching them walk along with their backpacks reminded me of my childhood, hiking with my brother.

Katie was so proud that she knew that the rock formations were called Inukshuks (I hope I spelled that right). This was the tallest one.The kids had fun building their own.
