Step Out For Lupus 2012

 April Sat 21, 2012 was the Lupus Society Of Alberta's annual Step Out for Lupus Walk/Run. Just 4 months after being in ICU, on life support, my sister-in-law, Crystal, is strong, healthy and grabbing life by the horns... "Always looking forward, never looking back". Her family, friends, and even those who didn't know her but heard her story rallied together. We had a great day walking, running and showing our support for those with Lupus.

 Team Forward (many of us) pre-walk/run. We won the "Best Team" award for our support of each other, the event and our energy. The runners all ran with Crystal every step of the way and completed the 5km run as a team. The walkers did the same in the 3km walk.

The top fundraiser - Crystal and our team, with over 86 donators, raised over $10 000 for Lupus! Way to go Team Forward and thank you to all who gave in our names! The LSA was overwhelmed by your generosity and can do so much with this money. This is an amazing amount of money for a disease and event that receives little attention.
