January brings us half way to Rachel's first birthday! Wow! Boo-hoo!
December was a very busy month for her, she expanded her solids menu to include apples, blueberries, carrots, bananas, peas and sweet potatos, and the occassional baby cookie, and is eating mixed grains now. Eating is going okay, there have been a few hurdles due to a cold and vaccinations, and she knows what she does (bananas, sweet potatoes) and doesn't (carrots) like. As mentioned she had her first cold, which she handled well until she had her vaccinations, and then we had monster baby on our hands - no sleep, no eating solids, just Momma's sook. Thankfully Daddy was around for some extra hands as Mommy was sleep deprived. Despite feeling unwell she has figured out how to sit up, and to get herself sitting from a lying down position! She is rocking the crawling position, and can move herself backwards VERY well, forwards is hit or miss, still a bit of practice needed for mastery of this kind of transportation. She has also begun experimenting with pulling herself up on things, oh the fun is about to begin for Mommy! She enjoyed her first Christmas, particularly the bows and ribbons.
We were planning to move her into her room with Liam last week but the 1, 3, 5, and 6am waking has put that off for now, maybe in a week or two, as Mommy and Daddy are ready to have their own room back.
Taking a rest from her 3-handed pushups
Deep in conversation with Liam. Their profiles are so similar!
Not so happy - despite her general contentedness she does have her moments!

A little thirsty? She is working on the sippy cup
This is an early sitting photo (last week), she is so much better now.
