1st Day of Kindergarten

Today is FINALLY the first day of kindergarten. Katie has been dying for this day to come, counting down on the calendar. All her friends in the city have been in school for a couple weeks now but as they do full day kindergarten out here they start a bit later in the month. She is SOOO excited! Mommy too, but is also a little nervous (if I have to admit it). Packing her lunch last night all I could think was "what if she has too much food, or not enough, or she eats it all at recess and then has nothing at lunch, what if she won't eat..." Then, "what if she doesn't know what bus to get on after school",  I think Bryan thought I was crazy! It is certainly a day of mixed emotions but as she is so excited that is mostly how I feel too - she is soooooo very ready for this. We took her out to dinner last night and then came home and read a letter from her teacher, Mrs. Percifield. Then stories and a big pillow fight with Daddy. She woke up on her own this morning and came down all dressed and asking when the bus was coming! She didn't even take too long eating her breakfast. We went through her lunch and backpack and then it was time to get dressed and go out to meet the bus. Daddy stayed home late to watch his girlie go off to school. Our neighbours and friends are getting their kids on and off the bus at our place too so they were waiting at the end of the driveway for us to come out. Liam woke just as we were heading out the door so I quickly got him dressed and brought him out. He so badly wanted to get on the bus too! And he bawled when the kids got on and the bus left! Just a couple more years buddy and you'll be on your way too...we all know it goes too fast! I hope she has a great first day and can't wait to hear all about it!
All packed and ready to go

 Kindergarten Rocks!!
