tummy success?!?

Update: Monday morning - since that solid bm we've had 2 episodes of diarrhea - no solved yet:(
Day 6 without Lactose. The number of bm's per day has been decreasing and this morning Liam had a formed stool (I can count on both hands how many he has had in 6 months) ! We continue with no lactose and on Thursday will take out Gluten - did some supply shopping at Community Natural Foods today - $52 later we have gluten/lactose free products for him - bread, all-purpose flour, rice crackers, "hot" cereal, xanthum gum (gluten replacement in baking), rice pasta and brown rice. This morning we all had lactose free pancakes (homemade, just substitued soy milk for milk), they were palatable, a little "rubbery", not as "fluffy" as we are used to. Next time will put fruit in for extra flavour, but overall not bad and most importantly Liam gobbled them up. He is tolerating the lactose free diet fairly well, sometimes he needs a little extra encouragement and patience but generally will eat the "substitute" foods. Fingers crossed we are on the right path with this.

YAY! I don't want to be too quick to say congrats, but I am really hoping that this is what works for Liam right now! It would be so hard to have an upset tummy for 6 months straight - hard on him, and hard on you! Keeping my fingers crossed!
