Mother's Day 2009

We had some great family time on Mother's Day, yummy breakfast in bed, the menu included Almond crusted french toast with warm cinnamon maple syrup, fresh strawberries soaked in Triple Sec and sugar, and fresh whipped cream, served with a lovely pot of tea! Mmmm Mmmm good. Thanks to the terrifc chefs, Katie & Bryan. I had nice snuggles in bed with Liam, a rarity.

In the afternoon we went for a walk in Fish Creek, where we disappointingly found that Gabbi's tree has been cut down, we are unsure why but guess it didn't survive the winter. Her's was not the only one cut down. We had some excitment too as Mia flushed a Canada Goose out of her nest and was very close to having tail feathers for lunch - it took much effort to get her to leave the poor goose alone (she is a trained retriever). We enjoyed a little snack by the river, tried, mostly in vain to get some family photos (2 dogs and 2 kids are not easy subjects on a timer).

We ended the day with a KFC picnic on the living room floor, which Katie thought was so much fun!
