Another month gone by, one more until I am 1 year old!!! It, as always, has been a busy month. I am cruising the house these days, still not walking on my own but holding onto anthing I can to get around and of course crawling - the fastest mode of transportation! I love to chase the doggies - they tolerate it, well Blazer does anyway - Mia runs away mostly. I am really starting to love the doggies - they are soft and furry and fun to give hugs to.
I can open cupboards and I've been able to open drawers for a while but now I can climb into them! I am reaching everything - so Mommy is constantly on-guard - making sure I don't pull over a plant, push buttons on electronics, stick my fingers in the toaster. Mommy is pretty determined not to "baby-proof" EVERYTHING so I am learning what cupboards I can play in and which are off limits. I'm pretty good at this as Momma puts lots of fun, easy to lift things in the cupboards I am allowed to play in.
I have 2 new teeth - one on the bottom & one top front. The other top front is sitting there, you can see it if you hold me upside down, but it hasn't broken through yet. This has caused us all to have some long nights but really I do cope quite well considering there was blood with the top one.
I am making sooooo many noises and sounds. I have my own word for doggie and I can say Dadda, but sometimes still use it inappropriately. I love to try to mimic Momma & Dadda, blowing bubbles, doing the "bbbbbbbb" with my fingers on my, or someone else's, lips. I make a chewing sound - like a giraffe eating leaves, cluck my tongue & all kinds of other things.
Momma & Dadda are really enjoying the hugs & kisses I give - except when I try to bite during kisses. They've gotten used to the open mouth, slobberiness of the kisses too. There are lots of, short, on Katie's terms, cuddles theses days.
This month Momma also went back to work. So far only 1 day/wk for the last 3 weeks but next week it is into the full schedule. I'm having fun with Allison and have done well with Momma leaving. Momma on the other hand has a harder time but I think she keeps busy once she gets to work as she doens't call very much.
This weekend we are having a birthday party for all my friends from Momma & Dadda's prenatal classes - starting this week until Halloween we are all going to turn 1! So I must run & help Momma get things ready - must test out all the toys to make sure they work:)
