Little Giggles is 4 months old now. I know I have said it over and over, but she really is the happiest, most content little baby, so much so that I have taken to calling her "Giggles". She has a giggle and a smile for everyone. She is a front to back rolling machine, who wriggles and squirms her way around the playmat at will. Although she is still the same little cuddle bug, she is quite adapt at entertaining herself on the playmat or in the jumperoo for periods of time. She has also come to enjoy her bumbo chair and the new vantage point it allows her to see the world from. She is ``that child``, with her thumb stuck securely in her mouth, clenching a blanket or other soft item in her fist, and her pointer finger curled around her nose (see below for a variation of this). She has her moments however, generally either gas induced or due to self-induced sleep deprivation, when she becomes a little monster. She has never returned to her lengthy night sleeps of 6-8 hours following the 3 month growth spurt and this is exhausting Mommy. She wakes usually twice a night. I remember this with Katie & Liam too and needing to do some `sleep training`, a term I actually really dislike, but it is appropriate here. With each of them I took a couple of sleepless nights on the chin to break them of the habit of waking to eat, but we don`t seem to ever have a couple nights that I can go sleepless...I guess this is the joy of having a large family. On the other hand though she is much more content in her carseat now, will snooze or play with her toys, and tolerates being dragged around to various places like the rink, parent council meetings and shopping and is usually quiet as a church mouse. She enjoyed her first day away from Mommy the other day and did great with Grandma and Liam while Mommy played with Katie`s class at the science centre. Grandma is settling into her house which means that hopefully Rachel, and Katie & Liam, can have a little more time away from Mommy & Daddy soon;) No height & weight check this month.
Rachel``s special blanket. Each child has a couple, but I hadn`t bought one for Rachel until recently. This one is so soft and cuddly, not to mention cute, it was the perfect special blanket!
She thinks so too:)
I`m catching up to you Penguin!
Giggles
Here is our little thumb sucker, finger curled around her nose, bear clenched tightly in her fist (opposite to the sucking thumb this time), practicing her acrobatics in the bumbo chair.
