Surgery:(

Well our poor little man has to have surgery:( Liam has a large cyst on his L testicle to reaches back up into his pelvis - a byproduct of a "canal" that hasn't closed as it should have, letting fluid drain into his scrotum. We found it about a month ago at a check-up with Dr. Faul. I had never noticed before but it was very swollen that day. We rushed off to an emergency ultrasound, thankfully it was not an emergency, and have been waiting for an appointment with a surgeon. We saw the surgeon yesturday and he will need to have it surgically repaired. We don't have a date yet, it is a 6-10 week wait. It is day surgery, about 3 hours. In the meantime we have to watch for hernias, the bowel could "fall" through the opening and become constricted, which would be an emergency and require immediate surgery. He is generally not bothered by the cyst, although it is hard to tell if the swelling increases because he is irritable or if he is irritable because it has increased (like the chicken and the egg debate).
