Playa Grande & Easter

We enjoyed Easter in Costa Rica. Katie asked everyone she could think of to please let the bunny know where she would be and that she would like jelly beans. Well he got the message and left her a jellybean easter egg hunt and some bubbles. He left some chocolate eggs for the adults and a froggie for Liam. We spent the day down the coast at Playa Grande Beach, beautiful to visit but not the best place to swim or spend the whole day - no shade and crazy riptides.

Justin really wanted to go as it is a nesting beach for the leatherback turtle.

Playa Grande - the leatherback turtle uses this as a nesting beach. We were just a little late, the season ends late March (not to mention you need to visit at night)

Pelicans

This is one dangerous beach, crazy rip tides and under tow! While we were there we saw 2 men rescued by surfers, caught in the under tow - very scary. Needless to say the kids didn't go in the water much here.
