Little Mother

Well today was a first for Katie in her role as a "little mother". She is very aware that Liam drinks breastmilk, that he only gets a bottle when Mommy is out and then she gets to help Daddy feed him. A little while ago she told me that she had breast milk too. We talked about how only Mommy's have milk in their breasts and maybe one day when she is a Mommy she will have milk too, but not right now.

This morning I was sitting with Liam on my lap in the chair, chatting with a friend on the phone. Katie comes over and says, "Mommy I'm going to get my baby, I'm going to feed my baby" and then she heads upstairs. A couple minutes later she comes down over the stairs with her doll, sits in the chair next to me and proceeds to pull up her shirt and put her baby up to her breast. It was the sweetest thing. People had asked me before if she had done this and since she hadn't to this point I just thought she wouldn't. I tried to take a picture but she is not into having her picture taken right now and she got very upset.
