Birthday Take 3

Visiting Gabbi's Tree with Grandma
Grandma came to town to celebrate Katie's birthday with us, she missed her flight so didn't make it for the party:( However, after all the festivities ended we took Grandma out to Fish Creek Park to visit Gabbi's tree. It was a beautiful afternoon and Katie really enjoyed being in the park, playing in the leaves and just running around. We got some nice photos of her, now I just have to choose one for Christmas cards - that won't be an easy task!
It was important to us to include Gabbi in our celebration of Katie's birthday. We'll never be able to celebrate Gabbi's birthdays the way we do Katie's, but she is still a part of our family. Just this week Katie began to say Gabbi's name, she knows Gabbi's blanket and points to Gabbi in photos. I know that she doens't totally understand but it makes me so proud that she is beginning to know her little sister, even if it is not in the way we wish she could. So, we celebrated Katie's birthday with Gabbi too:)
